Terms of Service

These terms apply to the BetterEmote website at betteremote.net and the BetterEmote addon for LabyMod (together "BetterEmote"), run by ShadowKrone. By using BetterEmote you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use BetterEmote.

1. Who can use BetterEmote

You need a Discord account to log in and a Minecraft account to save and upload emotes, so you must meet the age requirements of Discord and Minecraft in your country. You are responsible for what happens with your accounts.

2. Your account

• You log in with Discord. One Minecraft account can be linked to one Discord account.
• Linking proves through Mojang that you own the Minecraft account. Only link accounts that are yours.
• Don’t try to get into other people’s accounts, share codes from the website with others, or get around the upload limit.

3. Uploading emotes

You can upload up to 10 emotes. Everyone with BetterEmote can see and use the emotes you upload. You may only upload images that you made or are allowed to use. Emotes must not:

• be sexual, violent, hateful or discriminating, or harass or threaten anyone,
• show other people’s personal information, or be illegal in any other way,
• break someone’s copyright or trademark,
• pretend to be official BetterEmote, Minecraft, Mojang, LabyMod or Discord content.

You keep the rights to what you upload. By uploading you allow us to store, resize and show the emote on the website and in the addon, for as long as it is uploaded and as needed for moderation.

4. Reports and moderation

Anyone logged in can report an emote. Staff can remove emotes, and limit or end access for accounts that break these terms, without warning. Removed emotes may be kept hidden for a while so staff can review reports. If you think something was removed by mistake, contact us on Discord or at mail@shadowkrone.com.

5. Using the addon

BetterEmote only changes how chat looks on your own screen and sends normal chat text. Servers have their own rules and you have to follow them, BetterEmote is not responsible for what you or others send in chat.

6. No guarantees

BetterEmote is a free fan project, offered "as is". It can be down, change or end at any time, and emotes can disappear. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage from using BetterEmote.

7. Not affiliated

BetterEmote is not affiliated with or endorsed by Mojang, Microsoft, LabyMod, BetterTTV or Discord. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use BetterEmote means you accept it. These terms are governed by Danish law. Questions? Email mail@shadowkrone.com or ask us on Discord. See also our Privacy Policy.
